Day 1: Arrive on Be Happy. Choose to relax or have Sail Tahiti arrange scuba diving or some holopuni sailing for you.
Day 2: Cross the about 13 nm from Papeete to Vai'Are. The cruise over stunning blue waters takes just a couple of hours. During the right season, you may even see some whales. You will have plenty of time to enjoy the stunning views of the turquoise lagoon, explore beautiful beaches, and experience local culture. Popular activities include snorkeling in the protected waters and visiting nearby attractions.
Day 3: Sail approximately 10 nm to Cook's Bay, one of two famous bays on Moorea. After anchoring or mooring in Cook's Bay you have plenty of time to have lunch at the Moorea Beach Café and to spend the afternoon enjoying the lagoon.
Day 4: Sail the 5 nm from Cook's Bay to Oponohu Bay, the second of the stunning deep bays on Moorea's north coast. It might even be more magical than Cook's Bay. You’ll be surrounded by cliffs covered with tropical vegetation. During the afternoon you can swim with eagle and leopard rays or enjoy a stroll through the lush vegetation.
Day 5: At the south side of Oponohu Bay you can walk into the lush valley on a well marked trail. It is called the Ancestors Trail, and links several exceptional archeological sites. Walking through this luxurious nature surrounded by ancient marae is a fascinating link to Polynesian history. Alternatively, you can drive or hike to Belvedere Lookout, the most famous and prominent scenic spot in Moorea. The more adventurous can try out ziplining before walking back to the anchorage to enjoy an evening under the stars.
Day 6: Cruise the 13 nm to Haapiti where you will anchor on a long white sandbank. The lagoon at the southwest side of Moorea is large and offers plenty of snorkeling opportunity. The wave in the channel is one of the best surfing spots in French Polynesia, so best for experienced surfers. If you are a beginner or just want to enjoy the pro's show their skills, take your dinghy and head to the pass. Enjoy! Alternatively, just spend your day relaxing in the lagoon, swimming, snorkeling or fishing. Or take a walk to Haapiti village that is beautifully hidden between palm trees and flowers.
Day 7: Sadly, it is time to head back the 19 nm to Papeete. Leave the lagoon and sail around the south side of Moorea to cross the channel to the Taina Marina. During your last evening watch the sun set over Moorea and reflect on your week before having dinner at one of the many restaurants on west side of Tahiti or in Papeete to ease your return from dream to reality.
